INSTITUTE, W.Va. (AP) — All in-person homecoming activities will be canceled this year at West Virginia State University due to the coronavirus pandemic, officials announced Monday.
The university said that homecoming activities schedule between Sept. 24-26, including class reunions and a parade, would be cancelled, WCHS-TV reported.
The only event not cancelled is the Sept. 26 football game against Notre Dame College. That game will take place with reduced fan attendance, Details on the social distancing policy will be announced at a later date.
The university plans for face-to-face classes this fall with a modified academic calendar that was announced earlier this month. The fall semester will begin Aug. 10 and conclude on Nov. 20. More safety precautions for the fall semester will be announced soon.
