Memorial Planned For Slain Real Estate Agent

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (AP) — A memorial service has been scheduled for Saturday afternoon to honor a real estate agent in Virginia's Hampton Roads region who police say was killed by a client who had just bought a house in Portsmouth.

The Virginian-Pilot reports that the memorial for Soren Arn-Oelschlegal, 41, of Norfolk will be held in Virginia Beach.

Police in Portsmouth said they believe that Arn-Oelschlegal was shot by Albert Baglione, 84, last Friday. Police said that Baglione then turned the gun on himself.

Portsmouth police said that officers had arrived at the house and were told by Baglione that he had killed his agent. Police said that he had a weapon in his hand at the time.

Police said Baglione then closed his door before officers heard a gunshot. A SWAT team later found Baglione and Arn-Oelschlegal dead inside.

The house was purchased Oct. 4 for $160,000.

Arn-Oelschlegal was a longtime agent with Long & Foster Real Estate in Suffolk. He had been Baglione’s agent and recently posted about the sale to Baglione on social media.

Long & Foster praised Arn-Oelschlegal in a statement for his work and offered condolences to his family.
