SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — Comcast's only call center in Vermont is set to lay off 35 workers.
WCAX-TV reports Friday that the company has announced plans to consolidate its South Burlington, Vt. and Enfield, Ct. call centers.
The call center is set to close Oct. 11.
The company in a statement says that employees have several weeks to decide whether to take a severance package, transfer to Enfield, transition to a new position, or continue doing their job virtually from home.
The virtual jobs would include splitting shifts in the morning and evening, as well as working weekends.
