Sprouts Farmers: Q4 Earnings Snapshot

PHOENIX (AP) — PHOENIX (AP) — Sprouts Farmers Market Inc. (SFM) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter profit of $50 million.

The Phoenix-based company said it had profit of 49 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 45 cents per share.

The natural and organic food retailer posted revenue of $1.7 billion in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.69 billion.

For the year, the company reported profit of $258.9 million, or $2.50 per share. Revenue was reported as $6.84 billion.

For the current quarter ending in March, Sprouts Farmers expects its per-share earnings to range from 98 cents to $1.02.

The company expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.85 to $2.95 per share.
