Duke's trip to Baylor highlights tweaked Week 3 in ACC

Things to watch in the Atlantic Coast Conference in Week 3:

GAME OF THE WEEK

Duke at Baylor. The undefeated Blue Devils' trip to Texas looks like the best remaining matchup after three games involving ACC teams were canceled due to Hurricane Florence . Duke (2-0) is adjusting to new quarterback Quentin Harris, who's filling in for Daniel Jones after the three-year starter is out indefinitely with a broken collar bone, and a rough transition could prevent the Blue Devils from starting 3-0 for the second straight year. There's an ACC connection on the Baylor sideline, too — one of the Bears' quarterbacks is North Carolina State graduate transfer Jalan McClendon.

BEST MATCHUP

Miami defense vs. Toledo offense. The 21st-ranked Hurricanes (1-1) have allowed an average of 187 total yards in two games, breaking out their turnover chain four times so far. But road games can be tricky, especially on the home field of a non-power-conference team with something to prove. They might get a test from a Toledo offense that rolled up 603 total yards and 66 points in its only game — or they might give a reality check to the Rockets, who have played only VMI of the FCS.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

Some ACC teams have done a good job of taking care of the football. No. 2 Clemson is one of only five teams without a turnover this season. Of the top six teams in the FBS in turnovers lost, four are ACC schools — Virginia Tech, Boston College and Duke have one turnover apiece.

LONG SHOT

Virginia (1-1) is in a tricky situation, facing Ohio in a game moved to Nashville, Tennessee, with Florence approaching the East Coast. The Cavaliers are 3½-point favorites and come in after their loss to Indiana was marked by rain and otherwise poor conditions. Virginia will have to defend the run better than it did last week, when it allowed Hoosiers freshman Stevie Scott to rush for 204 yards and a score. With their off week coming last week, the Bobcats have had some extra time to prepare for Virginia.

IMPACT PLAYER

Look for Syracuse QB Eric Dungey to find some holes in Florida State's defense. Dungey ranks second in the ACC and 18th nationally, averaging 122 yards rushing, and it's the last chance for the senior to beat the Seminoles — something Syracuse (2-0) hasn't done since 1966. For Florida State (1-1, 0-1), the transition to new coach Willie Taggart has not exactly been smooth so far , with a loss to Virginia Tech followed by a closer-than-expected victory over Samford of the FCS.
