4th former St. Louis officer sentenced in bribery scheme

ST. LOUIS (AP) — The last of four former St. Louis police officers implicated in a bribery scheme has been sentenced to five years of probation.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Terri Owens also must perform community service following her sentence Tuesday in federal court.

Prosecutors say the officers took bribes in exchange for providing un-redacted accident reports to chiropractor Mitchell Davis and his wife, who used the reports to solicit business.

The other officers in the case received prison sentences. Mark Taylor was sentenced this month to 30 days. Marlon Caldwell was sentenced to 13 months in March. Cauncenet Brown received a 10-month sentence in January.

Mitchell Davis is serving a 2 1/2-year sentence and has repaid more than $1 million. His wife, Galina Davi,s got probation and an $80,000 fine.
