On a per-share basis, the Chicago-based company said it had net income of $1.28. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $1.37 per share.

The for-profit education company posted revenue of $409.9 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $136.8 million, or $3.39 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.58 billion.

Adtalem expects full-year earnings in the range of $5.60 to $5.85 per share, with revenue in the range of $1.66 billion to $1.7 billion.

Adtalem shares have increased 27% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $74.71, a climb of 65% in the last 12 months.
