Wichita Woman Charged With Murder In Baby Daughter's Death

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — A 27-year-old Wichita woman has been charged with first-degree murder and felony child abuse in the death of her baby daughter.

Neriah Dilley made her first court appearance Thursday and remains jailed on $250,000 bond, KAKE-TV reported.

Officers found the 1-year-old girl, Myonna Townley, in critical condition Saturday after responding to a report of a child not breathing. She died later at a hospital.

Police said the girl’s injuries included “trauma on her body.” A criminal complaint alleges Dilley tortured or cruelly beat her daughter.

Dilley’s next court date was scheduled for Oct. 28.
