EAST HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — Firefighters say about a half-dozen pets including dogs, cats and a rabbit have died in a Connecticut house fire.
Officials in East Haven say the fire was reported shortly before 11:30 a.m. Wednesday and was brought under control in about 15 minutes. No people were hurt in the blaze.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Another pet that survived the fire was brought to a veterinarian for treatment.
Fire Chief Matthew Marcarelli says the house has extensive damage.
