Fifth-Seed Saint Peter Stuns Top-Seed Quinnipiac, 62-60 In Maac Semifinals On Last-Second Shot

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — Mouhamed Sow scored the game-winning layup as time expired and racked up 15 total points as fifth-seeded Saint Peter's stunned top-seeded Quinnipiac 62-60 on Friday night in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference semifinals.

Saint Peter's advances to play for the MAAC tournament championship Saturday.

Matt Balanc hit a 3-pointer with 13 seconds left to pull Quinnipiac even, 60-60. After both teams called time out, the Peacocks got a missed jumper from Roy Clarke as time was running out, but Sow was there for the putback.

Sow added six rebounds and four blocks for the Peacocks (18-13). Corey Washington scored 13 points while going 5 of 13 (1 for 5 from 3-point range) and added seven rebounds. Michael Houge finished 3 of 8 from the floor to finish with eight points.

The Bobcats (24-9) were led by Balanc, who recorded 15 points. Savion Lewis added 14 points and seven assists for Quinnipiac. Paul Otieno had 12 points and nine rebounds.

Washington scored nine points in the first half and Saint Peter's went into the break trailing 30-29. Sow scored eight second-half points, including their game-winning shot.
