The Waltham, Massachusetts-based company said it had net income of 77 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $1.28 per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.13 per share.

The maker of scientific instruments posted revenue of $684 million in the period, also topping Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $677.6 million.

Revvity expects full-year earnings in the range of $4.83 to $4.87 per share, with revenue in the range of $2.75 billion to $2.77 billion.
