Inside the covered arena at the Josephine County Fairgrounds in Grants Pass are signs that improvements and repairs are forthcoming. Upgrades at the fairgrounds could be paid for by interest earned on an endowment fund from the sale of the Flying Lark.

More changes are coming to Grants Pass as a result of the sale of the Flying Lark.

On Tuesday, the Josephine County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to set up a permanent fund for the county fairgrounds using the money from the sale of the would-be racino to River Valley Church.

The sale, which was finalized in May, was for $9.5 million. The property had a real market value of $24 million and was on the market for $14.9 million. Read More »
