The Josephine County Sheriff's Office is asking if anyone has information about a potentially missing hiker on the Rogue River Trail.
At 4:44 p.m. Friday, a citizen reported seeing a backpack and dog leash on the trail, with no sign of a person or dog in the area. The person had noticed the backpack earlier in the day while hiking out on the trail, and it was still there in the afternoon on the return trip, the sheriff's office said.
With a mark of 36 feet, 4 inches, Hidden Valley's Aja LaPan won her second consecutive state championship in the Class 4A triple jump Friday at Hayward Field in Eugene.

A 33-year-old woman was arrested on a felony charge of first-degree criminal mischief after multiple calls about a person kicking parked vehicles Saturday morning in the area of downtown Fifth and J streets. Damages were estimated at more than $1,000.
