Junction City pitchers Jayden Lucas and Landon Van Hecke combined to throw a five-inning shutout as the sixth-seeded Tigers cruised by Hidden Valley 10-0 in a Class 4A first-round state playoff baseball game Tuesday in Junction City.
"[Lucas] had good control of his off-speed pitches," said Hidden Valley coach Justin Spinner. "He threw four innings and [Van Hecke] threw the fifth."

The Josephine County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday voted 2-1 to approve a $50,000 economic development grant for a local fishing and tour business on the Rogue River.

Grants Pass' big annual Memorial Day weekend festival features a carnival, boat races, food, music, games, fireworks over the river, a fighter jet flyover to mark Memorial Day, a parade through downtown and a brewfest.
It's all organized by the Grants Pass Active Club.
