The Fort Wayne, Indiana-based company said it had net income of 82 cents per share.

The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 85 cents per share.

The water and fuel pumping systems company posted revenue of $473 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $193.3 million, or $4.11 per share. Revenue was reported as $2.07 billion.

Franklin Electric expects full-year earnings to be $4.22 to $4.40 per share, with revenue in the range of $2.1 billion to $2.17 billion.
