MEDFORD — Charles Guenthner knew he had to change his life after his best friend died of a drug overdose.
Getting high wasn't fun anymore without his friend, who could always make him laugh. Living in his truck meant being woken up by the police and told to move along.

WEST LINN — Senior lefty Blake Crawford pitched a masterful two-hitter as top-ranked West Linn ended a historic season for Grants Pass with a 3-1 win Wednesday in the second round of the Class 3A baseball state playoffs.

Annual Boatnik festival boat races and events are bringing closures to sections of the Rogue River, some downtown streets and Baker Park in Grants Pass.
According to the Josephine County Sheriff's Office, the river is closed to public water use during the following times:
• 6 to 10:15 p.m. Friday from Baker Park to the Caveman Bridge.
• Noon to 8 p.m. Saturday from Baker Park to the Caveman Bridge. Read More »
