Amber and her father Alan Day participate in a costume contest at the Grants Pass Pride Festival on Saturday at the Josephine County Fairgrounds. "Pride means to me that we are free to be who we want to be," Amber said. Her dad added, "Pride means celebrating my family. My daughter, my son, my wife and my brother. Everyone in my family who isn't exactly what we're supposed to be."

On Saturday, rainbows came without rain. Josephine County's third annual pride festival brought performers, vendors and community members to the county fairgrounds to celebrate Pride month for the LGBTQ community.
At a costume contest, participants shared what Pride means to them:
"Being able to express myself in the way that I choose."

Hidden Valley junior Jack Matthew earned first-team All-Skyline Conference baseball awards at two positions to lead three Mustangs who received top-tier recognition this week.
Matthew was named to the first team as a pitcher and first baseman.
On the mound, Hidden Valley's lefty ace was 4-1 in Skyline play with a 1.69 ERA and 40 strikeouts.
At the plate, he hit .432 with a .574 on-base percentage and knocked in 17 runs.
