Work is set to begin in a few weeks on a new lookout to replace the historic one atop Bolan Mountain that burned down in the Slater Fire nearly four years ago.

The Josephine County District Attorney's Office has charged a 30-year-old man with a felony count of luring a minor for allegedly accosting an 11-year-old girl in downtown Grants Pass.
Jeffrey Michael Richards of the 1300 block of Dowell Road in Grants Pass was arrested at 7:43 p.m. Thursday near the Laughing Clam on G Street, according to a probable cause affidavit.
The affidavit said a man approached the girl while she was grabbing a sweatshirt from her parents' truck. Read More »
Jacksonville City Councilor Ken Gregg and Carolyn Kingsnorth, president of Historic Jacksonville, show the main room of the Old City Hall, used until recently for city meetings. Now plans are to make the space into a museum. The door at the back leads to the city's old jail cells and the fire engine bay, which already holds historic artifacts.
